President Donald Trump has shared what appears to be an AI-generated video of FBI agents arresting and cuffing former President Barack Obama.

The video begins with Obama, as well as other Democrats, including former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, saying repeatedly that “no one is above the law.”

Seconds later in the video, Trump and Obama are seated in what looks like the Oval Office, circa January 2017, when Obama was set to leave office and Trump was about to begin his first term. The ‘agents,’ wearing FBI jackets, move Obama out of his chair and to the floor, where they proceed to place him in handcuffs as the ’70s-era disco hit “YMCA” by  the Village People plays and a headline reads, “No One Is Above the Law.”

Donald Trump has stirred new political controversy after sharing what appears to be an AI-generated video depicting former President Barack Obama being arrested by agents wearing FBI jackets.

The video, which circulated widely online after being posted to Truth Social, begins with clips of several Democratic figures repeating the phrase “no one is above the law.” Among those appearing in the opening moments is former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Moments later, the video transitions to a scene that appears to recreate the Oval Office during the final days of Obama’s presidency in early 2017. In the clip, agents approach Obama, pull him from his chair, and place him in handcuffs while the disco hit “YMCA” by Village People plays in the background.

The video ends with a digitally altered image of Obama behind bars wearing an orange prison-style jumpsuit, accompanied by the phrase “No One Is Above the Law.”

The post quickly drew attention across social media, with critics accusing Trump of promoting misleading AI content, while supporters argued it was intended as political satire tied to ongoing investigations into the origins of the 2016 Russia probe.

Trump shared the clip during a week when Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard released newly declassified documents related to the investigation known as Crossfire Hurricane.

According to the newly disclosed memo, U.S. intelligence officials informed the White House in 2016 that Russian cyber activity did not significantly affect the outcome of the presidential election. The document reportedly stated that while there were attempts to target certain election-related systems, none reached voting infrastructure or altered official vote totals.

The memo also referenced attempts involving voter data in Illinois and unsuccessful probing of election systems in other states. Intelligence officials concluded that those activities lacked the scale or technical capability required to change election results.

The disclosure has been cited by Trump and his allies as further evidence supporting their long-standing claim that allegations of a coordinated Trump–Russia conspiracy were unfounded.

Meanwhile, attention has turned toward officials involved in launching the investigation, including former CIA Director John Brennan and former FBI Director James Comey. Reports indicate federal authorities are reviewing whether aspects of the investigation were handled improperly.

Current CIA Director John Ratcliffe said intelligence officials have also examined how the now-discredited Steele dossier became part of the investigative narrative. The dossier, which contained allegations about Trump’s ties to Russia, was later widely criticized for lacking verification.

Lawmakers are also reviewing a lengthy congressional audit compiled following meetings between Justice Department and intelligence officials. Some members of Congress are reportedly considering whether additional documents related to the investigation should be declassified.

Those materials could include internal notes from the Crossfire Hurricane probe and records tied to the inquiry conducted by Special Counsel John Durham, whose investigation concluded in 2023 that evidence of a coordinated Trump-Russia conspiracy was not established.

The debate surrounding the origins of the Russia investigation continues to shape political discourse in Washington, with supporters of Trump calling for accountability and critics warning that political narratives are increasingly influenced by viral content and digital media.
